The process begins getting to know you. We love for clients to tell us about themselves as this gives us a better understanding of our clients’ personal taste. We encourage our clients to show us samples they love, ideas that grab their attention and even magazine clippings. All your inspiration will help Whitney Owen Designs determine your unique style and the overall vision you have in mind.
1. Consultation
During the consultation phase, Whitney Owen Designs will work with you to determine which items you need, including the design theme, style, components and quantity. Once these items have been determined, we will provide you with a quote based on the requirements for you to review. At Whitney Owen Designs we offer several different printing options: Digital, Off-set, Thermography (design limiting) and Letterpress (design limiting) Printing and Foil Stamping (design limiting). The most common for Whitney Owen Designs is the Digital and Off-set printing options.
2. Design & Proofs
Once the details have been agreed upon and you are ready to move forward with Whitney Owen Designs, we will begin designing your invitation/announcement/stationery based on our discussion during the design consultation. You will then have the opportunity to review the proofs and provide feedback for us to incorporate into the final draft. Changes will then be incorporated into an updated proof and sent to you for approval. The design process usually takes 1-2 weeks depending on the season. There will be up to three proofs provided and any thereafter will be charged $10 for each additional proof.
3. Final Proof & Client Approval
Once the design has been approved, Whitney Owen Designs will send you a final proof for review and final approval. Your final PDF proofs will include all the specifications of your order, so you can confirm the design, style, layout, wording, spelling, punctuation and quote. Please review this carefully, as Whitney Owen Designs is not responsible for any mistakes or further changes once the final proof has been approved. If something needs to be changed after approval and design has been sent to print, you will be responsible for reprinting of files. It is very important to triple check all design files. Whitney Owen Designs suggests you have a second set of eyes to look the details over.
4. Payment
After your final proofs and quote are approved, the ½ deposit will be collected. The deposit must be paid before paper is ordered for your job and before printing can begin. No exceptions. Once payment is received, your order will go to Print and Production.
5. Print & Production
Your ½ deposit has been paid and now it enters the Print and Production phase. Depending upon the order, the print and production time may be anywhere between 2-5 weeks. If a printing process is chosen other than Digital and Off-set, additional time may incur. The time frame will depend on the season since some months out of the year tend to get a little crazy.
6. Final Payment & Shipping
Once your order is completed, the final payment is due and must be received before Whitney Owen Designs will ship or deliver your order. Again, no exceptions. Once payment is received, your order will be shipped through USPS, UPS or FedEx. In some cases, Whitney Owen Designs can hand deliver your order.
