Getting to witness the love of two people is definitely one of my favorite things about working with newly engaged couples. I first met with Kelsi and John last May to discuss their wedding invitations and photography. I have worked with Kelsi’s family on prior life events and was excited to have the opportunity to work with them again. We actually took their engagement portraits a year prior to the big day and had so much fun doing so. I loved getting to know them as a couple and the laughs were always rolling. Then, in August shortly before I had my fifth child, I took Kelsi’s bridal portraits and I cannot stress enough how hard that was to not share her bridals! Ha! So hard!! Kelsi and John were also such troopers when it came time to get the invites printed. COVID-19 came into play and it didn’t play nice because my printing company shut down all while having their invites waiting at that facility to be printed. I had to search for things and in the end we had to make last minute changes. I was sick about it but they just went with the punches. I am forever grateful to them for that. I was sick about it but I got them done and out they went. 🙂 At that point, I prayed that their wedding stayed put because I had already had several get cancelled or postponed. It’s been a rough season.
Fast forward….Kelsi (aka Kelissa) and John were married last month just a few days after event limits were lifted. Yay!!! They held firm that they were getting married on their day and their faith brought it to fruition. The Texas heat definitely showed up but it was a gorgeous day! Kelsi and John chose The Willows Event Center and it was perfect for them. From the beautiful garden to the quaint ceremony space, it was all filled with excitement and love. I love working with Kelsi’s family because they know how to have fun! Everyone is dancing and enjoying life and it makes me so joyful to see. Kelsi and her sisters are wonderful dancers and they didn’t disappoint! Thank you to the McCullar and Huse families for being so wonderful!
Kelsi and John, I pray that you both have a wonderful, God-filled marriage. Support and encourage one another through all the good times and even the bad. Don’t forget to laugh and enjoy every moment you have together.
I also need to give a shout out to my second shooter, Piper Owen. Piper is a wonderful photographer and I love her creative take on things. LOVE! She also happens to be my cousin and I cannot thank her enough for helping me when I ask.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. – I Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
