Well, how about another room?! Here is our nice open living room and, as you may can tell, I have a pretty eclectic taste. 🙂 When I was putting together this post, I noticed that my artwork is missing in the opening on the door on the right of the tv. Oops! 🙂 I have had the denim couch and oversized chair for twelve years now…which is INSANE to think about because my parents got me those during my sophomore year in college. Over the years I have changed out the throw pillows so I am sure there will be something different next year. 🙂 The doors were some finds that my Mom and I found for my wedding last year. I couldn’t let them go so I gave them a home and painted chalk board paint in the panels. The buffet that our entertainment equipment sits on was a lucky find that my Mom came across. The top is a little warped and the veneer was coming off. My brother, Adam, helped me sand it down and give it a new life during one of his stays with me while I was still living in Lubbock. My “stand in” coffee table is the trunk that my PawPaw made me when I graduated from high school. This is another piece that is very near and dear to my heart so I had to protect it a little with a vintage table cloth. The side table next to the oversized chair is an old typewriter box that my Mom gave me. I had some spare porch post laying around (again that my Mom gave me) and long behold I had an idea to turn it into a table. Thanks to my husband, he made that happen! My ugly lamp (which I LOVE) was purchased at a local antique store here in Seymour. Now, my fun display area for the different seasons is made from an old door and some more porch posts. 🙂 Eric made the table much better for me last fall by adding the apron to the table and so I decided I should paint it a soft blue. Currently, I still have my patriotic goodies out…but in my opinion I could leave them out year round. I have a mixture of old decanters, art work, graphic letters, photographs, vintage board games (thanks, Mom!), an old typewriter and of course my big ‘N’ (thanks, Dad!). My favorite parts of this room are the curtains, my birdcage lamp, my Granny’s chair, my big ‘N’ and my vintage board games.
